Plaht, Kathyrn June
Kathyrn June Plaht, 62, of North Liberty, formerly of Cedar Rapids for many years, passed away suddenly in her husband's arms on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012. Their love for each other was infinite. She will be forever missed by all who knew her for her positive and enthusiast attitude.
Services celebrating Kathy's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by Cedar Memorial Certified Staff Celebrant Julie Freese. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Kathy grew up on the family farm north of Keystone, Iowa, the daughter of John and Darlene Meyer.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Tom, who was always at her side. She was also extremely close to her loving son, Erik. Also leaving behind are sister, Judy (Dan) Pieper, and their children, Ashley (Jesse) Brecht and Austin Pieper; sister, Linda Ebert, and her children, Jackie (Ben) Seeck, Shane (Shelly) Kaiser and Zach Kaiser; and brother, John (Jan) Meyer, and their children, Brandi Meyer, Kadi (Aaron) McVay, Jonathan Meyer and Lindsay (Justin) Meyer-Giannetto.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Kristine.
Kathy touched the hearts of many and will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others in need. She enjoyed boating, reading, home decorating, stained glass art, and spending time with her family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
