Placzek, Jerome 'Jerry'
Jerome “Jerry” Placzek, 69, of Marion, formerly of Chicago, died Sunday, June 10, 2010 in Willow Gardens Care Center. There will be no services. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Mary Placzek; two nephews, Wayne A. (Sarisa) Placzek and James A. Placzek; and a great-niece, Brynn Placzek, all of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Wayne Placzek.
Jerome was born November 23, 1942 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Adam and Stella Wszolek Placzek. He was a graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago and was in administration for the Montgomery Ward Company.
Jerome was a wonderful artist. His wit was never-ending and he loved visiting with people. He loved gardening and fishing. Jerome was in the Army during peacetime.
