Irene A. Pitz, 64, of Oelwein, died Tuesday morning, April 17, 2012, at Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, at Christ United Presbyterian Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Charis Combs-Lay officiating. Visitation: 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and one hour before services at the church on Monday. A military auxiliary service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home by American Legion Ross Reid Post 9. Inurnment: Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa.
