Pirc, Ralph J.
Ralph J. Pirc, 98, a prominent businessman of Marquette, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010. Services will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 6, with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 5 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, McGregor.
Ralph is survived by daughters, Mary Jo Pirc of Marquette, Sharon (George) Kirby of Cedar Rapids, and Kelly (Ron) Earnest of Marquette; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Bacon of New Hampton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Pirc; parents, Michael and Myrtle Pirc; granddaughter, Brenda Happel; sister, Laura Pirc; and brothers, Jerry and Francis Pirc.
Ralph was born June 23, 1912, in Delhi, Iowa. He moved to Marquette when he purchased Marquette Hardware Plumbing/Heating and Bottle Gas. He enjoyed working Bingo at St. Mary's for over 25 years.
He was on the Marquette City Council and the mayor of Marquette and on the fire department for years. His passion was serving his community and visiting with everyone.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Marquette Action Club for the fishing pier at Marquette Riverfront.
His final mission: He's gone fishing!
