Pike, Augusta Abigail 'Abbie'
Augusta Abigail “Abbie” Pike, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Marion. Graveside services: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Coggon Cemetery, Coggon.
Survivors include three sisters, Ruby Goodall, Betty Clifton and Mary LaBarge; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her son, Michael Pike; four brothers, Howard, Phillip, Jesse and Scott Hawley; and four sisters, Ruth Goodall, Odessa Levasseur, Ellen Miller and Grace Long.
Abbie was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Lisbon, Iowa, the daughter of George and Esther (Coay) Hawley. On Sept. 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Floyd Pike. Abbie was a bookkeeper for her family's business for 30 years. She enjoyed bowling, softball and baseball. Abbie was easy going with a great sense of humor.
