Picone, Elizabeth 'Sis'
Elizabeth “Sis” Picone, 90, of North Liberty, Iowa, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at the Solon Care Center. No services will be held at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Visiting Nurse Association of Iowa City, Solon Care Center or The American Cancer Society.
Sis was born Sept. 23, 1923, in Oakland, Md., to Frank and Jenny Ponnozzi. She was a graduate of Curtis High School in Staten Island, N.Y. On June 6, 1944, Sis married Frank Picone in Staten Island. Sis was a homemaker.
Survivors include her two children, Frank (Debra) Picone of North Liberty and Angela (Debbie) Picone of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one stepgranddaughter, Ashley Pettit of North Liberty.
Sis was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Mary Raggi; and two infant brothers.
