PHYLLIS R. SMITH
Coralville
Phyllis R. Smith, 86, of West Liberty, formerly of Coralville, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017. A Service of Celebration and Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Lensing's Oak Hill in Coralville with the Rev. Maurie Campbell officiating. Burial will be at North Prairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.
Phyllis was born April 22, 1931, in Iowa City, the daughter of Yates and Jewell Raines Thurness. She was a graduate of West Liberty High School. On Oct. 3, 1954, Phyllis married Charles Forrest Smith.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Ann Smith and Kevin Smith, both of West Liberty; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Stanton and Myron.
