PHYLLIS PETERS

Phyllis Irene (Wade) Peters passed away Dec. 11, 2013, in the Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, Ala. A small family ceremony was held Dec. 13, 2013, at Laughlin Funeral Home in Huntsville. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 24, at the
Powell Funeral Home in North English.
She was born Aug. 17, 1931, in North English,
Iowa, the first child of Warren (Mike) Wade and Lena Fern Wallace. She graduated from North English High School in 1949. Phyllis served in the United States Air Force before marrying Clarence J. (Pete) Peters of Detroit, Mich., on April 14, 1956.
After marrying, they lived in Detroit. Their daughter, Barbara Ann was born there. After leaving Michigan in 1959, they lived in several different places including Iowa twice, Colorado, Panama Canal, Nevada and Bermuda. After retiring from their civil service positions, they moved to
Alabama.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Lena Wade; and one brother, David Leroy Wade.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clarence J. Peters; one daughter, Lt. Col. Barbara Peters of Montgomery, Ala.; and one sister, Judy (Benny) Esslinger of Huntsville, Ala.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North English Catholic Church and English Valleys Dollars for Scholars.
