Phyllis (Myres) Thompson, 94, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Northbrook Manor Care Facility.
Phyllis was born August 12, 1931, to Rex and Laura (Comp) Myres and was raised on a farm. She graduated Palo High School in 1948. Phyllis married Ken Thompson in Arizona on December 31, 1959. She has donated her body to science at the University of Iowa. At this time there will be no services held.
All her life, Phyllis loved sewing, and making her own clothes and curtains. After her retirement, she loved playing golf. She lived the majority of her working years in Vidor, Texas. She loved spending time with family, listening to music, and she loved dogs. She was a member of the Palo Methodist Church and the Shellsburg Auxiliary.
Phyllis is survived by her siblings, Betty Robertson of Shellsburg and Dwayne (Cheryl) Myres of Palo; her son, Dough (Cindy) Thompson of Texas; two granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Laura, and her husband, Ken.
