Phyllis McLaud, 88, of Des Moines, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Jan. 19, 2022, at her daughter's home.
A Visitation will take place at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories from 11 a.m. to
1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, with funeral service starting at
1 p.m. Burial to follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A livestream of the service will be available under obituary tab on the funeral home website starting at 1 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24. A cookie reception will follow the service at the Cedar Memorial Family Center.
Phyllis Arlene Polton was born Sept. 27, 1933, in Marengo, Iowa; the daughter of Hubert and Elmree (Jenkins) Polton. Phyllis was united in marriage to David McLaud on Sept. 29, 1951. She retired from Ralston Foods in 1994. She was an avid golfer and she enjoyed gambling. Phyllis was passionate about her family.
Phyllis is survived by three sons, Dave (Dixie), Tim (Cinda) and Michael (Kitser); a daughter, Julie (Kraig) Rosendahl; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; parents; three brothers; and one sister.
