Phyllis June Dykstra, 81, passed peacefully on July 8, 2022.
Services are 11 a.m. July 14 at Cedar Memorial Chapel, with visitation at 10 a.m. and burial at noon.
Born Oct. 8, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Paul and Bernice Reid. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1959. She married James Dykstra of Tipton, Iowa, on June 4, 1961. Phyllis worked at Rockwell Collins for 25 years and retired in 2001. A longtime resident of Marion, Iowa, she was an avid traveler and gardener. She enjoyed coffee with her good friends, bible study, and spending time with her son, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Gary Dykstra; sisters, Mary Jane Ames, Eunice Rodenberg and Dorothy Dee; grandchildren, Alisha Riley, Heather Miller, Jeremy McCullough, Aaron Dykstra and Sara Martins; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a true light to those around her and she will be so missed.
