Phyllis J. Yuva, 91, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Phyllis was born on July 4, 1931, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Dewey and Marion (Rawson) Lockey. On Sept. 5, 1947, Phyllis was united in marriage to Robert F. Yuva in Waterloo, Iowa. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, cooking and baking. Phyllis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Phyllis is survived and lovingly remembered by her seven children, Gary (Nancy) Yuva of Chandler, Ariz., Penny (Jerry) Huggins of Hiawatha, Iowa, Julie Yuva of Marion, Tom (Chris) Yuva of Dublin, Ohio, Jackie (Jeff) Robertson of Raleigh, N.C., James Yuva of Marion and Lisa Yuva of Pearland, Texas; 12 grandchildren, John Yuva of Gilbert, Ariz., Eric (Behka) Yuva of Gilbert, Ariz., Beth (Matt) Butters of Gilbert, Ariz., Jerry (Lisa) Huggins of Cedar Rapids, Sheri (Greg) Wolfe of Robins, Iowa, Jeff (Shannon) Huggins of Cedar Rapids, Jeff (Holly) Yuva of Somerville, Ohio, Jenny (Josh Kitner) Yuva of Colfax, Iowa, Christopher Robertson of Raleigh, N.C., Brandy Baker of Raleigh, N.C., Terri Tardell of Raleigh, N.C., and Kyle Robertson (Brittney Tabron); and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Druscilla Wilson; daughter-in-law, Patricia Yuva; and special great-granddaughter, Devann Hildenbrand.

Memorials in Phyllis’s memory may be directed to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
