Phyllis Hanson, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, May 15, 2018. Phyllis was
born in Waverly, Iowa, on Feb. 5, 1928, to Elmer and Edna Burton. Phyllis graduated from City High in Iowa City and lived in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area most of her life.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Robert; children, Edward (Susan) Etheredge, Larry Etheredge, Thomas (Ardette) Etheredge, Richard (Jackie) Etheredge, Robert P. (Christine) Hanson and Barbara (David) Wichmann; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; two brothers; and her son, Gerald Etheredge.
A private graveside service will be held May 25 at Memory Gardens in Iowa City, where she will be laid to rest next to her son.
