Phyllis K. Cooper, 56, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, May 3, 2015.
Phyllis is survived by her mother, Gloria (Eugene) Russell; siblings, Pamela Zolliecoffer, Michael Speer, Lori (Brian) Voyek; and five sons, Danielle Speer, Darane (Shawn) Speer, DaRaylin Cooper, Darryus Wright and Keshawn Wright.
She was preceded in death by her companion, Lee Wright; father, Donald Speer; and sister, Penny Lynn Speer.
Phyllis was born Dec. 14, 1959, in Osage, Iowa. She enjoyed talking to people and making new friends. She spent her whole life being a homemaker and attended Valley View Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at Valley View Baptist Church, 5555 Mount Vernon Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403, with Pastor Phillip Foster officiating.
