Phyllis Benedict, 63, of Robins, passed peacefully Sunday, July 10, 2016, at her home. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Private family burial: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills. There will be a reception following the service at the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Benedict of Robins; daughter, Lisa (Justin) Randall of Marion; grandchildren, Lucus Pitcher, Makenzie Randall, Hayden Randall and Jaxson Randall; stepsons, Michael (Sue) Benedict of Marion, Robert Benedict of Spirit Lake, Marc (Sofia) Benedict of Terril and the Rev. Dr. James (Kathy) Benedict of New Windsor, Md.; and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-daughter, Virginia Hepker.
Phyllis was born Jan. 20, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Carl and Janette "Evelyn" (Miller) Ondler. She graduated from Washington High School and William Penn University. Phyllis worked for Rockwell Collins and Yellowbook as a customer service representative.
She loved music and played the piano and organ for her church and multiple local Eastern Star chapters. Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her husband and filling photo albums with pictures of their adventures. During the warmer months she enjoyed long walks with her dogs and grandchildren.
