Phylis Lee Williams, 84, passed away at Willow Gardens Care Center in Marion on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Jim Coyle will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4.
She is survived by her children, LuAnne (Chris) Breckner of Coralville, Carolyn (Rod) Hilleshiem of Marion and Randy
Williams of Grundy Center; grandchildren, Amanda, Carrie, Alexis and Zachary Burns, Dustin and Misty Blank and Wesley, Nicholas and Tyler Hilleshiem; many devoted nieces and nephews; and eight
great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Williams; parents; her daughter, Donna Burns; grandson, Barton Burns; granddaughter, Megan Burns; and brothers, Lloyd and Larry Holsinger.
Phylis was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Maude Trippett Holsinger. She married Donald Williams on June 30, 1951, at First Christian Church in Waterloo in a double wedding ceremony with Richard and Emily (Dodge) Williams.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
She loved God and family.
She also was an accomplished musician, songwriter and poet, with a love of life. She had a kind word for everyone she met. The world has lost a generous soul, and God has gained a perfect angel.
A memorial fund has been established in Phylis's memory.
