Phoebe Sima, 79, of Whitestown, Ind., formerly of Vinton, died March 5, 2016, at St. Vincent's Hospice Inpatient Care Unit in Indianapolis. Public graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Evergreen Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home, Vinton, is in charge of arrangements.

Phoebe was born Sept. 15, 1936, in Cedar Rapids to Isaiah and Harriet (Beatty) Patton. She was united in marriage to Thomas "Tom" Sima on Jan. 24, 1954, in Cedar Rapids. Tom preceded her in death on March 27, 2008.
In her leisure, Phoebe enjoyed gardening, reading and crocheting. She also enjoyed watching tennis and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
She is survived by her sons, Tom Sima, John (Jill) Sima, Ron (Mary Lou) Sima and Don (Jane) Sima; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Phoebe was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; granddaughter, April Sima; and daughter--in-law, Jody Sima.
