Phillips, Seth William
Seth William Phillips, 21, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly May 7, 2013, at his home. Graveside services: 1 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. William B. Harnish. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Carrie Phillips (John Mincks) of Cedar Rapids; father, Michael Phillips (Jennifer Miller) of Winterset; fiancee, Sami Evens of Cedar Rapids; sister, Kaylea Phillips of Cedar Rapids; brother, Nate Phillips and girlfriend Liz of Cedar Rapids; stepsisters, Jeneca and Michelle Miller of Winterset; stepbrother, Skyler Allison of Cedar Rapids; uncle, Bruce Phillips of Cedar Rapids; grandmother, Connie Phillips of Cedar Rapids; grandfather, Patrick Cassidy of Cedar Rapids; godmother, Missy Connes; niece, Leonnah; nephew, Aldin; best friends, Vic Lane and David; and his pets, Domino, Snickers, Mia and Rockie.
Seth was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bud “Poppy” Phillips; grandmothers, Leona “Mackie” Jones and Margaret “Bubba” Phillips; and his beloved dog, King.
Born Aug. 13, 1991, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Seth was the son of Michael and Carrie Phillips. He attended Metro High School. Seth worked for CCB Packaging. He was an avid basketball player, loved to fish and hang out with his friends. His greatest joy was playing with his little niece, Leonnah.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Seth.
