Phillips, Daniel 'Dan' Jason

Daniel “Dan” Jason Phillips, 36, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 2, 2011. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial will be at a later date.

Survivors include his parents, Edward and Linda; stepmother, Patricia Phillips; fiancee, Tammy Kester; grandparents, Ruth Krohn and Howard and Mable Phillips; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special nephews, (Drew, Cody and Ben); and his special pets, Bailey and Duke.

Dan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Krohn.

Born May 11, 1975, in Belleville, Ill., Dan was the son of Edward and Linda (Krohn) Phillips. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Dan worked as a truck driver.

Dan's joys were the outdoors and camping with his fiancee Tammy. He also loved airplanes. Dan was a great storyteller and everyone loved his sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Dan's memory to the Wounded Veterans Memorial Fund.
