Phillip Michael Turnis, 65, of Manchester, died at his home, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, April 10, 2014.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Kathryn Turnis of Manchester; two children, Michelle M. (Matthew) McSweeney of Chicago and Timothy J. (Katelyn) Turnis of Waterloo; one grandson, Bennett J. Turnis; and five sisters, Norma McDonnell of Mon-ticello, Mary Frances Jasper of Hopkinton, Ruth Turnis of Dubuque and Janet (Jack) Digmann and Rosanne (Leo) Heid, both of Hopkinton; and two sisters-in-law, Verla Turnis of Worthington and Verna Turnis of DeWitt.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Monday, April 14, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manchester, with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Visitation: 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester. There will be a 2 p.m. Scripture service followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at the funeral home. Also friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment, with military rites: St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manchester.
