Phillip “Phil” Edward Schwickerath, 39, of Marion, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion.
Phillip was born on September 7, 1984, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Lon Edward and Kristine Lee (Merrifield) Schwickerath. He obtained his Master Plumbing License and later became a Plumbing Instructor at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Phil was a beloved father, son, brother, and uncle. His greatest joy was the pride he found in raising his two daughters, Evelyn and AnnMarie. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Phil is survived and lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Evelyn and AnnMarie; their mother, Patricia Schwickerath; parents, Lon and Kristine Schwickerath; maternal step-grandmother, Elizabeth Merrifield; sister, Allison (Ville Kallioniemi) Schwickerath; brother, Todd Schwickerath; niece, Olivia; and a host of extended family members including aunts, uncles, and cousins.
