PHILLIP "PHIL" MARTIN
Cedar Rapids
Phillip "Phil" Wesley Martin, 59, of Scott, La., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away suddenly in his home on May 17, 2015. Phil was born on March 25, 1956.
He is survived by his children, Lauranna Martin (James Roby) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis Martin of Scott, La., Shaleen Van Der Millen of Fort Worth, Texas, and Laticia Meaux of Rayne, La.; his grandchildren, Kaden, Keiton, Kaylie, Kwinn, Tessa, Greyson, Beau, Aleigha, Amelia, Jakob and Emma; six brothers; six sisters; four brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
He is also survived by a woman who held a special place in his heart, Deborah Martin, and her family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard; his mother, Barbara; stepfather, Walter; sister, Carol; nephew, Jason; a special friend and mother to his son, Travis, Cindy Wicher; and many biker brothers and sisters.
Phil was a kind, loving, giving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He was also a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and loved riding with his friends.
He worked for 24 years as an industrial mechanic for General Mills.
Phil requested not to have a funeral or memorial service, but instead to welcome you all to celebrate his life through sharing your memories.
He will forever be in our thoughts, prayers and hearts and will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew him.
