Phillip Lloyd Buelow, 63, of Anamosa, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville by the Rev. John R. Flaherty and Deacon Phil Saunders. Scripture service: 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, and visitation from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Burial: Springville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Buelow; his son, Nicholas (Becky) Buelow; two grandsons, Jackson Phillip and Riley Nicholas Buelow; his mother, Ilene Buelow; and his sister, Charlene Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd.
Phil was born June 27, 1952, the son of Lloyd and Ilene (Peters) Buelow in Cedar Rapids. On Oct. 9, 1971, he married Mary Mantor in Cedar Rapids. He graduated with the class of 1970 from Jefferson High School. Phil served with the U.S. Army. He worked for the Cedar Rapids Fire Department for 30 years, earning the rank of captain.
He loved his "lil Darlins" and "his boys."
Phil was a member of Springville American Legion Post 331.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Phil's memory.
