Phillip Mark Bensley, 76, of Hickory Creek, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018, after a long illness.
He was born March 13, 1942, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Hemlin and Ellen (Miller) Bensley. He graduated North Maquoketa Valley High in 1960 and joined the U.S. Army. He married JoAnne Black in Cedar Rapids in 1975. He retired from Rockwell Collins in 2001, where he was a machinist.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Bensley; along with his children, Scott Bensley and his wife, Michelle, Brian Bensley and Traci Bensley; and stepdaughter, Laurie Garcia and her husband, David; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery with Army honors.
