PHILIP N. JORGENSEN

Philip N. Jorgensen, 89, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Dec. 27, 2018. He was born on Dec. 15, 1929, to John W. and Bessie Jorgensen.
He farmed until 1973, when he became a federal food inspector, a job he held for the next 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jack, and wife, Rhoda Jorgensen; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Kelley.
Left to cherish Phil's memory are his wife of 66 years, Jane Jorgensen; his four sons and their spouses, Mike and Woodlyn Jorgensen of Iola, Texas, Tom and Beth Jorgensen of Coralville, Scott and Michelle Jorgensen of Green Bay, Wis., and Bill Jorgensen and Michael Power of Roswell, Ga.; and honorary son, Hieu Vu of California. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosie and husband, Skip Dale, of Audubon and Mary Kelley of Bolivar, Mo.; and his brother, Dan, and wife, Elaine, of Audubon.
A memorial service will be at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids on Monday, Dec. 31, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m.
Any memorials in Phil's honor may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church youth program.
