Philip A. Jordan, 59, of Hiawatha, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the Cedar Rapids Eagles Club. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Philip is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Amanda (Bruce) Main of Fairfax and Tanya Long (Joe Denoyer) of St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, Eric (Shelle Fairfield) of Longmont, Colo., and Denny (Tracy) Long of Wilmington, N.C.; his father, William Jordan of Apache Junction, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three brothers, Bill of Dacono, Colo., David of Boulder, Colo., and Doug of Swansea, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Philip Avery was born on April 8, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the son of William and Norma Spragg Jordan. He married Mary M. Ward on April 20, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nev. He worked as a truck driver for Ron's Custom Trucking. He served in the Iowa National Guard as a mechanic from 1973 to 1979 and was a proud veteran. He was a member of the Hiawatha American Legion Post 735 and the Cedar Rapids Eagles Club since 1983.
Philip loved truck driving, watching Iowa football, fishing, drinking a good margarita, and above all, he loved spending time with his friends and family.
