Pffett, Luetta E.
Luetta E. Puffett, 94, of Cedar Rapids, was called home peacefully to meet her Savior, Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at Calvary Baptist Church, 5338 Johnson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Jay Jentink. Visitation will be one hour before the service Monday. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
Survivors include her children, Karren (Raymond) Buck of Cedar Rapids and Sandra (Gary) Huebner of West Des Moines; brother, Donald Schug of Strawberry Point; four grandchildren, Susan Buck, Brad (Traci) Buck, Sara (Chris) Viall and Tim Huebner; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1985; daughter, Yvonne Puffett; and brother, Herman Schug.
Luetta was born June 18, 1918, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Theresa (Asmus) Schug. She graduated from Strawberry Point High School and completed Normal Teacher Training. Luetta married John Puffett on Nov. 9, 1937.
Luetta was a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a hard working farm wife alongside John for about 35 years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and was an avid reader.
