Petlon, Carlyn Laura (McElmeel)

Carlyn Laura (McElmeel) Petlon, 80, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Manchester. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home and Crematory in Manchester and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi.

Survivors include her son, Gerald (Karen) Petlon of Manchester; four grandchildren, Marti (Peggy) Petlon of Manchester, Ami (Shane) Ward of Manchester, Casey (Pam Tibbott) Petlon of Masonville and Dr. Jena Petlon of Chicago; seven great-grandchildren, Benjamin Petlon, Carson Petlon, Lena Petlon, Owen Ward, William Ward, Evangeline Ward and Livvy Petlon; seven siblings, Eugene McElmeel of Cascade, Shirley (Robert) Storm of Cedar Rapids, Tom (Doris McElmeel of Anamosa, John (Cheryl) McElmeel of Monticello, Susan (Lee) Tjaden of Monticello, Linda (Dan) Bauer of Monticello and Terry McElmeel of Monticello; and two brothers-in-law, Dale (Doris) Pettlon and Doran Petlon, all of Manchester.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ernie and Gerald; and one granddaughter, Julie Sue Petlon.
