Peterson, Paul J. 'Pete'
Paul J. “Pete” Peterson, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 11, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from complications due to a fall. The family invites friends and relatives to a memorial open house with refreshments on Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. and a time to share memories at 6:30 p.m. at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon.
Surviving Pete are his children and their families: David (Beth) and children, Angela and Casey; Christine (Joe) Melichar and daughter, Emilie; Kelly Peterson (Lenny) and daughter, Carson Jones; two brothers, David and Helmer Peterson; and former wife and lifelong friend, Karen (Hackman) Peterson.
Preceding Pete in death were his parents, Oscar and Durretta (Mullin) Peterson.
Paul was born July 31, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1962. Pete was a machinist for most of his life.
Pete was a very kind and simple man who never knew a stranger. He was always proud of his children and grandchildren.
