Peterson, Mary J.
Mary J. Peterson, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, following an extended illness. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Brooks United Methodist Church, Brooks, Iowa. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, and noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the Brooks United Methodist Church. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Mary Jean Parvin of Marengo, Roger Rees Peterson (Teresa) of Des Moines, Anne Maria Hotovec (Pete) of Urbandale and Laura Lynn Hoss (Jeff) of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Heather Jean Haines (Mike) of Sigourney, Kelly Anne Turner (Tyler) of Williamsburg, Reilly Rees Peterson (Michelle) of Des Moines and Tana Rae Peterson of Des Moines; and five great-grandchildren, Denny Haines, Dustin Haines, Marissa Ortega, Hayden Smith and Drew Turner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger on March 28, 2010; a sister, Ruth; a brother, Max; and a grandson, Bradley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to the Brooks United Methodist Church.
