Peterman, Terry 'Pete'

Terry “Pete” Peterman, 60, of Stanwood, died Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Sunday, Stanwood Union Church, by Pastor Phil Leipold. Inurnment will be at a later date. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.

Born Aug. 9, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Donald and Bette (Kinnan) Peterman, he married Peggy “Hyde” Miller on June 15, 1996, in Stanwood. Terry had been in the propane business and was a former manager of Skelgas. He had served 10 years on the Stanwood Fire Department, was a volunteer driver for the Mississippi Regional Blood Center and belonged to Freemont Masonic Lodge.

Terry loved baseball, his dog “Jake,” and his 1989 Lincoln town car.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; sisters, Chris (Robert) Meyer of McGregor and Tracey (Pat) Downey of Bettendorf; brother-in-law, Harvey Hein of Lowden; mother-in-law, Phyllis “Hyde” Hanus of Stanwood; stepson, Ron (Emily) Miller of Wilton; two stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Hein.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
