PETER CONSTANT CONRAD
Aiken, S.C.
Peter Constant Conrad, 63, of Aiken, S.C. formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, lost his battle with chronic and debilitating pain on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021.
Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Jan. 20, 1958, he was the son of the late Cletus and Mary McEowen Conrad.
Pete was a retired carpenter who was committed to golf, loved hunting morels, making music, and was a lifelong friend to many. His legendary generosity and razor-sharp wit were known only regionally until he moved to South Carolina in retirement, where he spread those gifts more broadly.
Pete is survived by five sisters, Anne Conrad Duffy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Nicolette (Rocky) Woods of Aiken, S.C., Kayt Conrad (Donald Klingenberger) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Martina Conrad (Larry Price) of Aiken and Aimee Conrad (Ron Dubreuil) of Oak Park, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family invites those who loved Pete to gather on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. at JM O'Malleys Pub, 1502 H Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, to share memories and toast his life.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice or directed to the Cletus and Mary Conrad Endowed Scholarship at Kirkwood Community College.
