Pete Ursula Lestrade, 82,
of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Manor Care Health Services in Cedar Rapids.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home conducted by Chaplain Paul Wood. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Pete, under "photos and videos or media," starting at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Pete was born April 22, 1939, in New Orleans, La., the daughter of John Lestrade Jr. and Ursula (Ybos) Stevens. She managed a K & B drugstore for many years. All her life, Pete was an avid animal lover having many pets and raising parrots. She also had her amateur radio license. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pete is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Renee V. Rogers of Staten Island, N.Y.; son, Edmond (Ann) Rogers of Marion, Iowa; two grandsons, Nicolas Henoumont and Alex (Amanda) Henoumont, all of Staten Island; great-grandson, Benjamin Henoumont of Staten Island; and two sisters, Sharon Stephens of Santa Fe, Texas, and Sandy (Douglas) Borne of Thibodaux, La.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials in Pete's memory may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
