Perry J. Courtney, 83, longtime Iowa City resident, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at Briarwood Health Care Center in Iowa City. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. A Celebration of Perry's Life will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Briarwood Health Care Center.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Boorman (John) of Blackbird, Del., and Fran Calvert (Ron) of Iowa City; and grandchildren, Ron Calvert Jr. (Leah) and their children, Norah and Hailey; Chad Babka (Tara); Jeremy Boorman (Amanda) and their children, Luke and Ian; Michael Boorman and his children, Marley and Hailey; and Alison Mathieu (Josh).
