Perlenfein, Clyde Andrew
Clyde Andrew Perlenfein, 77, of Mount Vernon, formerly of South Lake Tahoe, Calif., passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, in the Solon, Iowa, Care Center after a short, but brave battle with cancer. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Thomas Mattson, followed by a Masonic service. Private burial at Happy Homestead Cemetery, South Tahoe, Calif., to follow later.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Mark) Eifler, Portland, Ore., Kristi (Craig) Debevoise, Austin, Texas, and Katy (Tim) Munroe, Concord, Calif.; six grandchildren, Connor J. Eifler, Andrew, Nicole, Brooke Debevoise, and Kaitlyn and Savanna Munroe; a sister, Ramona (the Rev. Russ) McClatchey, Hedgesville, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Kim (Bob) Zimmerman, Anamosa, Iowa, and Karry (Larry) Hauser, Lake View, Iowa; a stepson, Kenneth (Maribel) Moser, Lithia, Fla.; and three stepgrandchildren.
Clyde was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Ringgold, Iowa, the son of Christian and Viola Marrs Perlenfein. He graduated from Walker High School in 1953 and Cornell College, Mount Vernon, in 1957.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James.
He married Marilyn Quinn on Nov. 28, 1959. She passed away April 8, 2001. He married Beverly Raddatz Moser on May 16, 2004. She died Aug. 8, 2011.
Clyde was a 50-year member of Capital Masonic Lodge 110, Des Moines, Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge 112, Cedar Rapids Scottish Rite Consistory, Cedar Rapids Elks Lodge 251 and the South Lake Tahoe Elks.
Clyde was a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, fishing, bowling and especially traveling.
