Perkins, Jack
Jack Perkins, 75, of Millers Ferry, Ala., formerly of Anamosa, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011, at home from a sudden illness.
Jack was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He married Rose Irene Brown on Oct. 31, 1954. He retired from Quaker Oats after 37 years. He and Rose retired to Millers Ferry, Ala., in 1992. Jack was an avid bowhunter and fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking, visiting with friends and playing the slots at the casinos.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rose; five children, Cindy (Dennis) Unruh of Independence, Ky., Russell (Dixie) Perkins of Fairfax, Becky (Steve) Moss of Manchester, Amy (Randy) Pearson of Washington, Iowa, and Kelly (Willy) Cole of Dundee; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Carolyn) Perkins of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters, Beverly (Walter) Phillips of Des Moines, and JoAnn (Jim) Klein of Lakeview, Ark.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
