Percy Lee Fields Jr. died of heart failure at University Hospitals on Monday, May 6, 2024. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 11:00 am in the Amana Community Church Fellowship Hall in Amana, Iowa. A brief prayer service will be held at noon, followed by a luncheon for all to attend.
Percy was born in Englewood, NJ on November 18, 1957, to Percy Fields Sr. and Bessie (Moore) Fields. He attended Englewood schools and graduated from Bergen Technical School in Englewood.
Percy was just settling into retirement after working various maintenance jobs around the Iowa City area. He loved golf and fishing and was an avid New York Yankees and Iowa Hawkeyes fan.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Margaret (Maggie), daughter Isabella Wendler, mother-in-law Wendy Ziegler, her husband Ekhard, brother-in-law Jake Wendler, his wife Natalie and children Cora and Graham, sister Shirlena Hopson, and nephew JR Hopson. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Stuart Wendler.
