Penny Rene Kreutzer, 77,
of Marion, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Private family services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 11, followed by a public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Penny was born Nov. 17, 1939, to Florence (Curran) and James Lacock, in Marion, Iowa. She was raised by Jesse and Mary Starry. She graduated from Marion High School in 1958. Penny married Steven Kreutzer on May 29, 1977, in Las Vegas. They loved "going to the river" together for 42 years at Scales Pointe campground on the Coralville Reservoir. She also enjoyed gambling, playing euchre, shopping at thrift stores and spending time with family and friends.
Penny is survived by husband, Steven Kreutzer; son, Trent Brooks of Marion; daughter, Danell "Dani" Wells (Bernie Arterberry) of Maquoketa; grandchildren, Zachary Wells and Ashley Wells of Maquoketa; nephew, Kevin McKenna (Tammy) of Cedar Rapids; niece, Rene Gellerman (David) of Bettendorf; brother-in-law, Denny Kreutzer of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Kelly Siegel of Wisconsin; and special childhood friend, Joni Glessner of Branson, Mo.
She was preceded in death by parents and beloved sister, Saundra McKenna.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Penny's honor.
