Peggy Van Dee was born Dec. 28, 1957, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Robert E. and Janice LuJean (Derby) Stephenson. She attended English Valleys High School. On Sept. 5, 1981, Peggy was united in marriage to Duane John Van Dee, near South English, Iowa. She worked as a housekeeper at the English Valley Care Center. Peggy enjoyed reading, listening to old country music, garage sales and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved Halloween! Peggy died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, at the English Valley Care Center in North English, at the age of 64 years.
She is survived by her husband, Duane of North English; a daughter, Wendy (Buck) Holland of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Josh (Sonja) Icenbice of Keswick and Tyler (Leigh) Van Dee of Ely; six grandchildren, Lacy, Gabby, Dillon, Peyton, Corbin and Charleigh; four sisters, Brenda Lown of Tiffin, Cathy (Ron) Fry of Sigourney, Rhonda Hibler of Oskaloosa and Dana Aubrecht of Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; a granddaughter, Jozie; and two brothers, Robert Alan and Larry Stephenson.
Celebration Of Life service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Visitation will be Friday, from 2 until service time at 4 p.m. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery, North English, at a later date. A general memorial fund has been established.
