Peggy Lou Timms, 70, of Gold Canyon, Ariz., formerly of Springville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at Arizona Assisted Living Home in Gilbert, Ariz. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service for her family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Lafayette Cemetery in rural Alburnett. Arrangements are in the care of Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Peggy was born July 1, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Chester Harvey and LaVon (Potter) Timms. She was a graduate of Springville High School and went on to attend the University of Arizona. Upon graduating from the university, Peggy worked as a paralegal, working for Arnold Hirsch, attorney at law in Arizona. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, Arizona Paralegal Association, Maricopa Bar Association and the Association of Legal Assistance. Peggy enjoyed her travels back to Iowa, where she loved playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by two brothers, Richard A. (Sharon) Timms of Central City and Harvey (Birute Navikas-Timms) Timms of Mentor, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and LaVon Timms; and three brothers, Larry McKee, Gary Matheny and Alan Scott.
