Penny was born Nov. 4, 1937, to Orville Lloyd and Arlene Lloyd-Sauer.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Marion (Bud) Scolaro; three children, Kelly (Tom) Murdock, Mitchell Scolaro and Vincent Scolaro; grandchildren, Tony Scolaro, Whitney Brandt, Jackson Brandt, Caleb Murdock, Marnie Hill-Woodworth and Paige Rose Nielson-Scolaro; sisters, Judy (Kent) Bunn, Sandy Rierson, Sharon (Monte) Barton and Kathy (Mark) McCalley; sister-in-law, Antoinette Snyder; brother-in-law, John Serbousek; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Ronald; mother, Arlene; sisters, Connie Broderson, Rhonda Snow and Lauretta "Lou" Serbousek; brother, Larry Lloyd; and brothers-in-law, Monte Rierson and Skip Snyder.
Penny loved country music. She loved to sing and play guitar. She played in a country music band for a short time. She enjoyed baby-sitting and taking care of people. Penny was the life of every party and she lit up every room she walked into. She never met a stranger and the world is a little less bright without her in it.
Special thanks go out to the staff at Northbrook Manor for making the last years of her life safe, happy and comfortable.
No funeral services are scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to greater Iowa Chapter Alzheimer's Association.
