Peggy Merfeld, 57, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a sudden illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, where friends may register after 9 a.m. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where a parish vigil service will start at 4 p.m. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Father Paul Baldwin will officiate at the services.
