Peet, Steven Michael

Steven Michael Peet, 49, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away March 15, 2012, in Jamestown, N.D., following a sudden illness. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends and family may visit after 9:30 a.m. before the 11 a.m. service. Inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Jack and Anita Peet of Cedar Rapids; one brother, John (Cindy) Peet Jr. of Fairfax; three sisters, Linda Peet of Cedar Rapids, Jean (Jim) Arthurs of Robins and Jackie (Bob) Ness of Waunakee, Wis.; nephews, Derek Peet, Jim Arthurs, Mike (Amber) Arthurs and Dustin (Angie) Peet; grandnephew, Tatum Peet; nieces, Amy Arthurs, Rachel and Molly Ness; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Dorothy Peet and Louis and Lillian Merrifield; and his Dalmatian, Bruiser.

Steven Michael Peet was born Sept. 4, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Jack and Anita (Merrifield) Peet. Steven loved his family, a bargain and his “wheels,” especially if they were on a Ford.

His smile, jokes, laughter and good times shared will always be remembered with love in our hearts. He's just too good to forget.

A memorial fund has been established for the family.
