Peet, Douglas Lee
Douglas Lee Peet, 58, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home in Marion. Inurnment: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Cedar Rapids; his son, Joe (Connie) Peet of Hudson; his daughter, Amber (Brad) Harrington of Garwin; his mother, Lelah (Herman Gansemer) Peet of Guttenberg; and three grandchildren, AbiJo, Rich and Cambry.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Doug was born Dec. 23, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Richard and Lelah (Franklin) Peet. He married Linda Petrick on Nov. 7, 1977. Doug was a longtime barber in Cedar Rapids, and most recently worked for Barron Motor Warehouse. He was a member of the MS Society.
Doug loved fishing year-round and was an avid card player, but his greatest love of all was spending time with his family.
A memorial fund has been established in Doug's memory.
