Peck, Norma Jean
Norma Jean Peck, 77, of Anamosa, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home the day of the service.
Survivors include her husband, Robert A. Peck of Anamosa; children, Barrie Peck of Scotch Grove, Ron R. (Connie) of Grand Forks, N.D., and Rosemary Jean Peck of Anamosa; grandchildren, Jeremiah R. Peck of Tucson, Ariz., and Joel C. (Katie) Peck of Fargo, N.D.; great-grandchildren, Noah Isaac Olderbak of Grand Forks, N.D., and Isabel Lorraine Peck of Tucson, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Mary Towers of Marion; brother-in-law, William G. (Donna Sue) Peck of Dubuque; sister-in-law, Joanie Peck of Mesquite, Nev.; and brother-in-law, David Penn of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Marilyn Jo LeClere Penn.
Norma Jean was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Alfred Pillard and Josephine Grace (Woodward) LeClere. She married Robert A. Peck on Dec. 23, 1949, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Norma Jean's family was her life; she was loved by everyone who knew her. She had been gifted with an ear for music and was an accomplished accordion player. Norma had no doubts about Christ, her Savior's promise of a home in heaven prepared for her.
A memorial fund has been established in Norma Jean's name.
