Pauline Ruth (Jaeger) Haage, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, conducted by the Rev. Douglas Loecke. The family will be available to greet friends and family one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Norway, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Pauline was born to George and Clara Jaeger on Oct. 24, 1935, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1953, and Mt. Mercy Junior College in 1955. Pauline was united in marriage to Robert Charles Haage on May 10, 1960, in Cedar Rapids. She was employed by the Department of Defense for 35 years, retiring in 1991 as a property management specialist. Pauline was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed trips to Door County in the fall every year with her family for over 25 years.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Catherine Haage of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert.
Pauline’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Dennis & Donna Hospice House of Mercy and Dr. Ann Soenen and staff for the special care they provided for Pauline.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Pauline’s memory may be directed to either the Hospice House of Mercy or to St. Matthew’s Catholic Parish.
