Pauline M. Grove Flory, born July 10, 1919, in Monroe County, Iowa, to Earl and Sarah (Bruere) Grove, died peacefully June 14, 2014, at Friendship Village, Waterloo, from complications of dementia.
She married Leland E. Flory on June 6, 1943, at English River Church of the Brethren. He passed away Dec. 25, 1979.
Previously, Pauline resided in Cedar Rapids for 10 years, Marion, 41 years; and the North English and Kinross area, 25 years. She retired in 1984 after 24 years of teaching kindergarten at Prairie Elementary in Cedar Rapids.
Pauline is survived by sons, Don (Marcia) Flory, Ron (Denise) Flory, Alan (Chris) Flory and John (Kris) Flory; daughter, Carol (Glen) Kussart; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Dorothy (Bob Firth) Peterson and Harriette Janke; brother-in-law, Wesley DeCoursey; sister-in-law, Jeannette Grove; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Leland Grove; older sister, Verda G. DeCoursey; and an infant brother, Paul.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. Saturday, July 26, followed by memorial services at 10:30 a.m., at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, Waterloo. Interment of ashes will follow at 3 p.m. in English River Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Waterloo Church of the Brethren or Heifer International.
