Paulette Kay Hoover, 80, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Brosh Chapel. Burial will be in Dunkard Cemetery, Midway.
Paulette was born on September 14, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John and Mary (Phillips) Spore. She was united in marriage to Jerry Hoover in 1978. She worked at Roosevelt Hotel and Holiday Inn Express for many years. Paulette enjoyed watching TY, spending time with her cats and family.
Paulette is survived by her children Paula (Dan) Stolba, John (Barb) Norton, Keith Bascom, and Patti Bascom (Allen Carl); sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; her sisters Deanna Volesky and Fran Carney; long-time companion George Welsh; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Rachel Bascom, brother Mike Spore and a brother-in-law Bob Carney.
