Paula Renee Buser, 48, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, by Pastor Trish Decker. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home and on Monday at the church after 9:30 a.m.
Paula is survived by her husband, Mike, and her daughter, Mariah, both of Cedar Rapids; parents, Edwin and Sandra Schipper of Clinton; brother, Terry (Carrie) of Le Claire; sister, Kim (Kevin) Blount of Durant; in-laws, Leonard and Norma Jean Buser of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Sandy (Don) Kluth of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Vera Paulsen and Earl and Margaret Schipper; and her aunt, Joan Coyle.
Paula was born on June 1, 1970, in Clinton, the daughter of Edwin and Sandra Paulsen Schipper. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1988 and attended Kirkwood Community College. On Sept. 25, 1993, Paula married Michael "Mike" Buser in Clinton. For over 28 years, she worked at and then became co-owner of Total Financial Solutions and Payee Services. Paula was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Family was most important to Paula. She enjoyed music, going to concerts, watching television and movies and the color purple. Paula loved sports, including going to Iowa Hawkeye football games, and watching the Chicago Cubs and the Dallas Cowboys. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
