Paula Charlene Lapp, 88, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, formerly of Marion, IA passed away November 28, 2023. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation: 9:30 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 16 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories
Paula was born on March 12, 1935, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Frank and Henrietta Eleanor (Krob) Schlueter. She graduated from Marion High School in 1953. On January 28, 1961, she was united in marriage to Thomas W. Lapp in Marion, IA. She worked as an administrative assistant at the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 1966-1990. After retiring, Paula and Thomas moved to North Carolina. She was a talented artist, creating many oil paintings.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Thomas W. Lapp of Fuquay-Varina, NC; nieces, Dana Slimko of Chicago, IL and Deborah Bush of Seattle, WA; and brother, Richard Schlueter of Monument, CO.
Preceding her in death were her parents, and stepsister Jan Johnson.
